The City of Grand Prairie approved a long-term lease agreement with Major League Cricket (MLC) and American Cricket Enterprises (ACE) for redevelopment of AirHogs Stadium, 1600 Lone Star Parkway. Redevelopment of the stadium is scheduled to begin in November 2016 and to be completed by the end of 2017. The stadium will host 10 home games during MLC’s inaugural season in May 2017 and again in May 2018. The stadium will also serve as an events venue hosting youth sports tournaments, community events and more throughout the year.

The league’s historic opening match will take place on July 13, 2023, at the newly-constructed Major League Cricket venue, Grand Prairie Stadium, in Grand Prairie, TX. The City of Grand Prairie is one step closer to having its own major league cricket stadium. On Thursday, July 26th, the city council approved a long-term lease agreement with Major League Cricket (MLC) and American Cricket Enterprises (ACE) for redevelopment of AirHogs Stadium, 1600 Lone Star Parkway. The redeveloped stadium will host two major MLC tournaments every year.
The redeveloped stadium will be a multi-purpose facility which will include an eight-lane synthetic running track, four regulation cricket pitches and seating capacity of up to 8,000 spectators. It is estimated that the redevelopment of the current AirHogs Stadium into a major league cricket venue will cost $15 million to $20 million with construction slated to start in October 2016.

AirHogs Stadium has been approved by the City of Grand Prairie to be redeveloped as a Major League Cricket stadium. Schedule for redevelopment
Redevelopment of the stadium is scheduled to begin this summer, with completion slated for 2020. The redevelopment will transform the existing 5,000-seat AirHogs Stadium into a major league cricket stadium with a minimum capacity of 10,000 seats. The design plans are currently being finalized and construction is expected to commence once those details have been finalized. This summer we will see progress on the site as infrastructure improvements and remediation take place.
